Which documents do you need for a B.Tech credit transfer?

A credit transfer evaluation needs your semester marksheets first — those alone establish what is cleared. Admission then requires 10th and 12th certificates, transfer and conduct certificates, migration certificate for non-state boards, and identity documents.
For the evaluation, one thing matters
All your semester marksheets. Nothing else establishes what you have genuinely cleared, and no honest assessment is possible without them.
Send these first. Everything below can follow once the pathway is confirmed.
For the admission itself
Academic
- All semester marksheets, including failed and arrear attempts
- 10th standard marksheet
- 12th standard or diploma marksheet
- Bonafide or provisional certificate from your current college
Transfer
- Transfer Certificate (TC) from the last institution attended
- Conduct or character certificate
- Migration certificate — required for CBSE, ICSE and other non-state boards
- Any detention, discontinuation or duration-expiry letter
Identity
- Aadhaar card
- Community certificate, where a reserved category is claimed
- Passport-size photographs, usually six
- Passport and visa pages, for international applicants
Two things students get wrong
Waiting to collect everything before asking. The evaluation only needs marksheets. Delaying the audit while chasing a migration certificate wastes weeks in a cycle where branch availability changes.
Assuming a lost TC is fatal. It is not. Colleges reissue them, and the admission can usually proceed on a provisional basis while it is obtained.
Keep the originals
Universities verify originals at enrolment. Scanned copies are fine for the evaluation, but you will need the physical documents eventually — start collecting them early.
